 Microsoft has pledged to continue supporting Windows XP until 2014 making it a 13 year long supported operating system. Microsoft will provide security patches and other critical updates for the OS through until this date at least. Despite the plans to cease selling XP to PC manufacturers and stores Microsoft have admitted that the product will be available to customers who need it. From the looks of it Windows XP appears to be the most successful and desired operating system of the Microsoft range and with Windows 7 already in the works it would seem that it is going to beat Vista as well.
