Trials have started this month in Japan for scent emitting advertising. These advertising booths or posters consist of a 42 inch LCD and a scent sprayer that emits odors that correspond with images on the screen. The idea is to get the prospective customer's attention and and provide them with a nearby coupon book for the various shops that are being advertised. How long until they are doing this with normal televisions in households leaving you almost helpless when those fast food adds come on around dinner time? Jump to article

In case you were not aware, eBay was attempting to force all Australian eBay users to make all payments via the Paypal gateway. Many users complained about this and contacted the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCCC). eBay has now confirmed that the scheduled 15th July implementation has been postponed due to an investigation by the ACCC in regards to this proposal.Whilst Paypal is a much more secure method of transaction it should not be a compulsory means of transaction as this may been seen as a revenue raising venture. In fairness eBay shoppers should be made aware of the benefits of using Paypal and the risks they take in not using Paypal and the decision left up to them. Jump to article

Recent talks by eBay suggest that they will be trialling a mandatory PayPal transaction rule in Australia at some stage in the near future. Users will be forced to link their bank accounts and credit cards to a PayPal account and even cash on delivery sales will be processed through PayPal. Some consumers are not bothered by the change as they are already using the service but for those who don't it may be rubbing them up the wrong way.The ACCC have declined to comment on the situation as many consumers are questioning the reduction of payment options of the buyers and the forcing of them to pay commission to both eBay and PayPal. Whilst the complaints will be many there are positives that can come from using PayPal including some sort of protection on your purchase. Statistic also show that PayPal users a four times less likely to have any issues or disputes with their purchases. The following categories have been exempt from the ruling: cars, boats, motorcycles, aircraft, trucks (commercial), trailers, caravans, services, real estate and businesses. Jump to article

The latest addition to the Razer family is the Salmosa. This mouse is said to close the gap between high end gaming mice and every day use mice. With gaming feel, design and performance for a fraction of the price I would have to say that consumers are going to love this mouse. Jump to article

The 8800 GTX is soon to be succeeded by the 9800 GX2 in NVIDA's latest release of GPU. The actual specs of the card have not been released yet but judging by the trend of previous upgrades I am sure that the 9800 will not disappoint even the most avid gamer. In addition with the introduction of triple SLI motherboards I think game developers are going to have their hands full when it comes to stressing 3 of these babies. Jump to article
